Looking at it backwards

Had to give myself a mental kick this afternoon. Routine maintenance on our ’07 SUV turned up a non-routine repair (and a need for new tires, which I knew was coming but not quite yet). So a day in the shop set us back a fairly hefty amount.

We had the funds to cover the repair, that wasn’t a problem. My problem was that I’d mentally allocated the extra money in our account for something else. In truth, God had allocated the money for the repair–and that’s how I should have been looking at it.

Kind of humbling to realize how easily I can see a blessing as a setback!
