ON MARCH 25, 1948, a craft described as a “flying saucer” was found by oilfield roughnecks on a mesa northeast of Farmington, New Mexico. Within hours, the US military arrived and hauled away the 100-foot diameter craft — containing 16 bodies — to a secret facility at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Dr. Frank Thayer, co-author with Scott and Suzanne Ramsey of the new book The Aztec UFO Incident, explains why this event, which has been dismissed as a hoax for more than 60 years, should be considered an important part of the history of the modern UFO phenomenon.
