Totally missing the point

The older I get, the less patience I have with drivel like this:

God’s story of love in the life and death and resurrection of Jesus is a story which asks me to dare to be not less human, and somehow a bit more precious, but rather more human.

No! Our problem is that we’re too human, inherently sinful and flawed. The Resurrection is not “about celebrating diversity.” Christ died to purchase our redemption from eternal damnation with his blood.

Now, if you’re a skeptic and you see Jesus as nothing more than a model for tolerance, you can be excused. You’re parroting the world’s line because you don’t know any better.

But if you’re an ordained Christian bishop and you believe that pablum, you need to find another line of work.
