Turkey seizes Christian churches

The government of Turkey has seized all the Christian churches in the largest city in southeastern Turkey.  Officially, the move is for “historic preservation” — but none of the historic mosques in the city were touched.

Also: President Obama manages to anger Brits, Vladimir Putin, and Arab states in the Persian Gulf; ISIS freezes to death 45 defectors; and the Bank of Japan has cornered the markets in Japanese government bonds and funds sold through the Nikkei index.
