Things could be better for Intel. It just announced that it’s firing a whopping 11% of its entire workforce, laying off a massive 12,000 workers.
As the author of the piece observes, in this “new normal” recovery we shouldn’t think of them as 12,000 newly unemployed, former high-paid engineers and tech workers, but as 12,000 brand new waiters and bartenders.
