Body dysmorphia, trans-speciesism, and the return of the old gods

The new live-action production of ‘Beauty and the Beast’ highlights a strange type of ancient myth: Stories of humans falling in love with gods who appear in the form of animals.

This is manifesting in our age as a weird type of emotional disorder where sufferers believe they’re trapped inside the wrong body — or wrong species. It’s also selling our kids and grandkids on the idea of loving “the beast.”
