Bill Ayers caps career by pointing out the obvious

And he apparently suffers from a bit of self-loathing:

Unrepentant terrorist William Ayers and his wife, onetime federal fugitive Bernardine Dohrn, are releasing a new book that blames whites for the problems in the U.S. since its independence from Great Britain more than two centuries ago.

According to, the soon-to-be released book, “Race Course Against White Supremacy,” includes personal essays “by two veteran political activists” on “white supremacy and its troubling endurance in American life.”

“Arguing that white supremacy has been the dominant political system in the United States since its earliest days — and that it is still very much with us — the discussion points to unexamined bigotry in the criminal justice system, election processes, war policy, and education,” the Amazon posting states.

White supremacy is not the dominant political system in the U.S., although it is clearly a sad and undeniable fact of our history.

But come on, Bill — this is a layup. It’s like, shock! The Roman Empire was built on a political system devoted to Italian supremacy! Arthurian Britain was destroyed by a political system predicated on Saxon supremacy! China’s dominant political system is Han supremacy!

Well, duh.

Societies are founded and rise to greatness because a group of people bound by cultural ties find it in their best interests (or are coerced) to cooperate. Very often this results in culturally dissimilar people being conquered, enslaved, or assimilated. It’s not right, from an ethical perspective, but that’s the way it’s been since the dawn of history. Might has always made “right”.

Singling out the United States and it’s primarily Anglo-Saxon culture as somehow uniquely different displays a weak grasp of history at best.
