An estimated 1.4 million cases occur annually in the United States; of these, approximately 40,000 are culture-confirmed cases reported to CDC.

Did you get that? 1.4 million cases annually. 117,000 a month. In a normal year.

So why did Lou Dobbs waste ten minutes on his show tonight demanding tighter regulations on farmers because of an “outbreak” that’s hit less than 1,200 people?
