Doctor Doom

This is what comes from indoctrinating kids with the belief that humans are just another type of animal:

I watched in amazement as a few hundred members of the Texas Academy of Science rose to their feet and gave a standing ovation to a speech that enthusiastically advocated the elimination of 90 percent of Earth’s population by airborne Ebola.

The speech was given by Dr. Eric R. Pianka, the University of Texas evolutionary ecologist and lizard expert who the Academy named the 2006 Distinguished Texas Scientist.

To sum up, Dr. Pianka believes that overpopulation is ruining the Earth and that the only way to save it is by culling 90% of the human herd. (By condemning them to about two weeks of intense suffering and horrific, bloody deaths.)

If that number sounds familiar, maybe it’s because tinfoil-hat wearing conspiracy theorists have claimed for years that this is one of the principal goals of the Illuminati. (This is also one of the goals listed on the mysterious Georgia Guidestones.)

As the “Distinguished Texas Scientist” of the year, a tenured member of the staff at one of the largest state universities in the U.S., Dr. Pianka doesn’t appear to represent the lunatic fringe of academia. How many of his colleagues believe we need to murder 5-and-a-half billion people to make the world safe for lizards?

More important: How many of those responsible for funding research grants–presumably, the wealthy elite–agree with Dr. Pianka’s genocidal plan to preserve the Earth for the worthy?
