Poll: Americans Oppose Starving the Disabled to Death

Zogby confirmed my hunch: That CBS poll showing that a majority of Americans wanted Terri Schiavo to die was a load of bull puckey. Look at the response when you ask the question like this:

“If a disabled person is not terminally ill, not in a coma, and not being kept alive on life support, and they have no written directive, should or should they not be denied food and water,” the poll asked.

A whopping 79 percent said the patient should not have food and water taken away while just 9 percent said yes.

Okay, so let’s take this a step farther: Why did CBS and other major news outlets continue to report that Americans generally favored Michael Schiavo’s position? Propaganda value for the pro-death position? Who gains?
