Religion stops people from thinking? This from Bill Maher? I’d like to see him take his superior intellect and go head to head with someone like John Warwick Montgomery…
John Warwick Montgomery (Ph.D., Chicago; D.Théol., Strasbourg; LL.D., Cardiff; Dr. [h.c.], Institute for Religion and Law, Moscow) is Emeritus Professor of Law and Humanities, University of Luton, England, and Director, International Academy of Apologetics, Evangelism & Human Rights, Strasbourg, France. His legal speciality is the international and comparative law of human rights and he regularly pleads religious freedom cases before the European Court of Human Rights. He is a U.S. and U.K. citizen, the author of some fifty books in five languages ( www.ciltpp.com ), and is included in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in France, the European Biographical Directory, Who’s Who in the World, and Contemporary Authors. JOHN WARWICK MONTGOMERY is considered by many to be the foremost living apologist for biblical Chistianity.
Yep, clearly just a Christian crazy with a neurological disorder compared to Mr. Maher.
Dr. Montgomery is a regular guest on Issues, Etc., a talk show I listen to on the way home from work every day (it’s also streamed live–and archived–on the Internet). He is a powerful argument against those like Bill Maher who belittle Christians as simpletons.
There are countless others like Dr. Montgomery. A quick scan through Josh McDowell’s Evidence That Demands a Verdict should be enough to convince anyone with an open mind that there is much more to Christianity than blind acceptance of a 2,000-year-old fairy tale.
