An eagle flew lazy loops overhead as I drove to work this morning. Amazing, considering that we live in densely populated suburbia. Apparently the fish in the Missouri and Mississippi have attracted a healthy population of American Bald Eagles to Saint Louis.
The eagles seem to especially like the stretch of the Missouri River adjacent to the power plant in West Alton. The warm water discharged from the plant keeps the fish active even in the dead of winter, and the eagles appreciate the good fishing.
