What Are We Really Doing In Ukraine?

Justin Raimondo of AntiWar.com, a writer I don’t always agree with, raises some important questions about the West’s obvious desire to put Viktor Yushchenko in office:

  • If the KGB really wanted Yushchenko dead, why would it use dioxin, a substance which has never caused a single recorded fatality in humans?
  • Why has the U.S. government meddled in Ukrainian politics by donating $65 million to groups that campaigned for Yushchenko (including one founded and funded by George Soros)?
  • Is the US intervention in Ukraine payback for Vladimir Putin’s treatment of Yukos Oil chief Mikhail Khodorkovsky, the neocons’ favorite oligarch (and pal of Lord Rothschild)?

I don’t like where these questions lead. Would we appreciate Russia spending millions to influence national elections in, say, Canada?
