Jeff Suppan was marvelous last night. If he never pitches another game in the major leagues, he’ll be able to tell his grandkids about the time he out-pitched Roger Clemens to lead his team into the World Series.
Tough for the many Astros fans out there, who’ve suffered more than their share of heartbreak. Until this year, it seemed the Astros were destined to be the team that always just missed the cut. As a lifelong Cubs fan, I empathize.
Now it’s time for the Cardinals to break the hearts of the Red Sox.
