The way he contradicts his own positions, maybe John Kerry should refer to himself in the third person, like Bob Dole:
“We know we can’t count on the French. We know we can’t count on the Russians,” said Mr. Kerry. “We know that Iraq is a danger to the United States, and we reserve the right to take pre-emptive action whenever we feel it’s in our national interest.”
So what’s his plan?
Mr. Kerry insisted that he has “a plan to make America safer” and persuade reluctant allies, such as France, Germany and Russia, to help support Iraq’s fledgling democracy.
We can’t count on them, but they’re the backbone of his strategy. Brilliant.
Sort of like the situation Dusty Baker has with the Cubs’ bullpen.
