I sent a note to a prominent member of the blogosphere–I won’t say who because I didn’t ask permission to use his name–about my post on Richard Clarke, Afghanistan, and Unocal. His response was rather curt: “Not that bogus Unocal story again. That was debunked two years ago.”
Bogus? Debunked? Clearly I’ve missed something. The only official denial I’ve been able to find–granted, I don’t have access to Lexis-Nexis–was a press release from Unocal on September 14, 2001.
See the timeline on 9/11 at the Center for Cooperative Research. The information there, pulled from mainstream news sources (as opposed to hysterical, left-wing bloggers), is eye-opening. Depressing, too, to realize that one’s country, one’s government, rather than being a force for good, is shedding blood for the purpose of inflating the net worth of some of the wealthiest men in the world.
America’s foreign policy: Made possible by a grant from Unocal.
