Okay, so people around the world oppose the occupation of Iraq. Somehow, millions have found it possible to live with the absurd notion that the world would be a safer place with Saddam Hussein in power.
Maybe that foolish idea is the result of presumably objective reporting like this dispatch from Reuters
A year after the start of the Iraq war, Saddam Hussein has been overthrown and captured, but no weapons stockpiles have been found.
This is a bald-faced lie. But it passes for honest, straightforward reporting. Millions read it, accept it as truth, and conclude that the US is a greater danger to world peace than men like Saddam.
Somebody remind me again why we care what the rest of the world thinks.
