Bush to Push for NEA

President Bush is going to ask Congress for a big increase in the budget of the National Endowment for the Arts.

This is the latest move in Karl Rove’s dangerous game. I think Rove is pushing the president to alienate his core supporters in a useless attempt to win the votes of a few moderates. He’s betting that conservative voters will back Bush to keep the White House out of Democratic hands no matter what, especially since each passing day brings us closer to the next appointment to the Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, true conservatives are disturbed enough about the massive run-up of the national debt and proposed amnesty for illegal aliens that the Constitution Party is starting to look better and better. Even if Bush loses.
