Smaller government? President Bush is about to become the first president since John Quincy Adams, in the 1820s, to go a full term without vetoing a single bill.
According to the latest edition of “Waste Watch,” the official newspaper of Citizens Against Government Waste, “Congress has increased non-defense discretionary spending by 20.8 percent over the last three years, and pork-barrel spending increased 48 percent over the last two years, including 9,362 projects totaling $22.5 billion in fiscal 2003. In doing so, Congress has created a record $480 billion deficit.”
So remind me again: How exactly are the two major parties different?
