A Story at Wired News cites a new study that claims global warming may kill off 25% of all plant and animal life on Earth by 2050.
What the article does not mention is that the computer models used to generate these apocalyptic scenarios predict that the Antarctic should be warming and the ice cap there melting.
It’s not. A recent 35-year study shows that Antarctica is cooling, and the ice cap is growing.
Which is very interesting, when you think about it: The ice cap shrank for thousands of years leading up to the 20th century, when man really started pouring those greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Now that all those “global warming” pollutants are in the air, the ice cap is growing.
When it comes to these dire predictions of death and destruction, author Michael Crichton put it best:
Nobody believes a weather prediction twelve hours ahead. Now we’re asked to believe a prediction that goes out 100 years into the future?
