NaNoWriMo: Day 9 Wrap

I’m calling it a weekend with 23,546 words. Not bad, if I do say so. I added about 11,000 words since Friday morning, which was part of the plan. I took Friday off, and this coming Friday, too, in order to beef up my word count.

Looks like I’ll make the finish line this year. A year ago, I struggled to squeeze out 21,000 words in the entire month, and it wasn’t until the last week of October this year that I finished the book.

At the pace I’m on, I should make 50K before Thanksgiving weekend, and I’ll get four days to work on the novel over the holiday. No family close enough for an affordable visit, I’m afraid.

So by December, I should have two manuscripts in the can, ready for rewrites. And Boneman is waiting in the wings, with about 15,000 words down on that story, too.

I think I’m getting the hang of this.
