Some things never change. Jessica’s Well has posted a couple of pages from a 1946 issue of Life magazine, which includes descriptions of postwar Europe that sound strangely familiar:
Americans are losing the victory in Europe. Destitute nations feel that the U.S. has failed them…We have swept away Hitlerism, but a great many Europeans feel that the cure has been worse than the disease.
I guess, based on historical precedent, we should drop everything and get out of Iraq right now.
