A new Gallup poll finds that 71 percent of Baghdad’s residents feel U.S. troops should not leave in the next few months. In addition, nearly 60% say that American troops have behaved “fairly well” or “very well”.
Perhaps the most interesting discovery:
“Almost everyone responded to the pollsters’ questions, with some pleading for a chance to give their opinions.”
If the people are willing to talk, maybe the fear of Saddam is fading.
