Split Over Homosexuals in Anglican Church?

Anglican bishops have gathered in London for an emergency meeting this week to deal with the issue of ordaining open homosexuals. Archbishop of Canterbury Dr. Rowan Williams hasn’t been too optimistic about avoiding a split in the Church.

The Archbishop of the Southern Cone, Greg Venables of Argentina, told the BBC this morning that the New Hampshire Episcopal Church has already “stepped out” from the Anglican faith by ordaining a homosexual bishop.

God is very clear on the subject of homosexuality. Knowingly committing a sin is one thing. Redefining sin by reinterpreting the Bible to fit one’s personal beliefs is nothing more than creating a god in one’s own image. That’s not the way the universe works.
