Glenn Reynolds suggests that the White House should subpoena reporters who know about the Valerie Plame leaks. Why?
1) It becomes difficult for the press to claim that the White House is covering up while it demands the right to protect sources.
2) The press is hypcritical claiming “if you leak you’re a traitor, but if we print your leak we’re great Americans.”
3) If reporters know they may be subpoenaed, leaks will be less likely to go public. Which is the whole point, right?
