My opinion of liberal commentator Susan Estrich goes up almost every time I see her lately. Estrich, a professor of sex discrimination law and the campaign manager for Michael Dukakis in 1987-88, blasted the L.A. Times for its last-minute stories on the women who claim they were groped by Arnold Schwarzenegger. (And a tip of the hat to the Times for running her piece.)
I used to think Susan was an “us versus them” type, defending the Democratic Party regardless of the tactics it employed. She sure defended Clinton through thick and thin. But either my first impression was wrong or she’s changed, because she’s showing that she’s willing to stand up and protest when her ideological colleagues cross the line.
