Mutant Rats in Kyrgyzstan!

This looks like something from a 1950s science fiction movie: Strange rats have invaded Kyrgyzstan.

According to news reports, the rats “are killing numerous farm birds, are damaging grape and corn crops, and have destroyed 14 hectares (about 34.5 acres) of grain in one of the districts.” The rampaging rodents are also attacking people, with young children especially vulnerable. So far, the usual poisons have had no effect.

These super-rats were reportedly bred by an Uzbek specialist who crossed an ordinary rat with a muskrat.
