It was an odd day at work. A new supplier has taken a whole week to approve our credit for a $13K purchase of valves we urgently need for a customer’s order that’s supposed to air-ship to Russia on Wednesday. It turns out the supplier is a division of another supplier we buy from, often and in quantity. For some reason, these guys couldn’t pull our records from the other division–even though we gave the other division as a credit reference.
Needless to say, the valves aren’t going to make that flight. And my customer ain’t happy.
Moral of story: There are people in this world who won’t do one iota more than their job requires unless you make it painfully clear that it’s in their best personal interest.
